BEEF: If you are looking for an oriental flavour to BBQ beef, try this recipe.

BBQ SESAME AND GINGER BEEF FILLET:

2 lbs. beef fillet in one piece

marinade:

   1 tbsp. sesame oil
   ¼ cup soy sauce
   2 cloves garlic, crushed
   2 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
   1 tbsp. lemon juice
   2 tbsp. chopped green onions
   1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tsp tapioca or cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp. water, optional

Mix together marinade ingredients and pour mixture into a re-sealable plastic bag. Add beef fillet. Flip bag a couple of times to coat meat. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat barbeque to hot direct heat and oil grill. Brown beef on all sides for 1 -2 minutes. Remove from grill, season lightly with salt and pepper to taste; then wrap beef in foil. Return meat to barbeque and cook for a further 15-20 minutes, depending on the doneness preferred. Leave for 10 minutes before carving.

Put left over marinade in a saucepan and boil for a few minutes to reduce slightly. Thicken sauce, if preferred, with the starch solute. Strain and pour sauce over carved meat to serve.
