DESSERTS: I suppose waffles are not really desserts but a breakfast favourite. But there's nothing wrong with enjoying it as a dessert, especially when accompanied with ice cream.


WAFFLE BATTER:

 

 

 

1 ½ cups flour                                                

2 tsp. baking powder

½ tsp. salt                                                        

2 tsp. sugar

2 eggs, separated                                             

1 cup milk

1/3 cup butter, melted

 

 

 


Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.  In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks and add milk. Stir milk and eggs into dry ingredients. Beat to combine well.

 

Whisk egg whites until stiff. Fold into egg yolk mixture.

 

Heat waffle iron, test it by adding a teaspoon of water into it. Close lid. If it steams up right away, iron is ready. Add in enough batter to fit the iron and cook according to instructions.
