PRALINE:
½ cup butter
1 packed cup of brown sugar
½ cup broken pecans or walnuts
2 ½ cups corn, bran or wheat flakes
Bring butter and sugar in a heavy saucepan over low
heat to a boil. Watch carefully and let
it boil for 1 to 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and toss with a fork to
coat with butter and sugar.
Let it cool; then crumble praline. Store it in an
air-tight glass jar.
Praline is delicious for sprinkling over ice cream,
deep dish fruit pies, puddings, custards or cheesecake.
